First Impressions Count

The Sylvia Park development includes environmental considerations as one of the guiding principles. As each precinct within this site is developed, the design is assessed against these guiding principles. Our environmental philosophy and stage one design proposals have been fully endorsed by a group of independent environmental experts. Key issues addressed to date include:

  • The demolition phase recovered virtually all salvageable timber and all untreated unsalvageable timber has been converted to mulch;
  • All foundations and roadways have been crushed and used for fill on site rather than disposing to landfill; and
  • The first stage construction includes numerous good practice initiatives with regards to energy efficiency, optimised insulation, water efficiency, storm water treatment, recycling facilities, landscape designed to minimise water use and use of rain water for flushing.
